According to the Guinness World Records, Thriller is the world's best-selling album of all time. Sales of the album are over 104 million copies.
The album is also notable for being one of only three albums to remain in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 for one full year, spending 80 consecutive weeks in the top 10, 37 of which were at number one.
Thriller is also the first album of only three in history to produce seven Billboard Hot 100 top-ten singles.
The album continues to sell an estimated 60,000 units in the United States per year.

In February 1984, Michael Jackson was nominated for twelve Grammy Awards — of which he won eight — breaking the record for the most Grammy Awards won in a single year. Seven were for Thriller and the other for the E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial storybook.
That same year, Jackson also won eight American Music Awards and the "Special Award of Merit" and three MTV Video Music Awards.
Thriller also helped to bring music from African-American artists back into mainstream radio for the first time since the mid-1970s.

Recorded between April and November 1982, Thriller was the second of Michael Jackson's solo albums to be produced by Quincy Jones. Of the nine tracks that came to be on the final project of the album, Jackson wrote four.

The album's first single is "The Girl Is Mine", a duet with Paul McCartney. The album's second single, "Billie Jean" catapulted Jackson and Thriller to the top of the charts. Jackson then performed "Billie Jean" at the Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever special, showing off his signature dance move, the "moonwalk", to an enormous audience.
From there, Jackson's already considerable success grew further. Michael Jackson's reinvention as a crossover artist was complete with his third single, the rock song, "Beat It", which features guitar work by guitarist Eddie Van Halen. Written by Rod Temperton, produced by Quincy Jones, and featuring Vincent Price, "Thriller" is one of Jackson's signature songs, in no small part because of its legendary 14-minute music video, regarded as the greatest music video of all time.

Изкушавам се да започна не по хронолигичен ред.

    "Beat It"

    [1st Verse]

    [2nd Verse]
You Better Run, You Better Do What You Can
Don't Wanna See No Blood, Don't Be A Macho Man
You Wanna Be Tough, Better Do What You Can
So Beat It, But You Wanna Be Bad

    [Chorus]
Just Beat It, Beat It, Beat It, Beat It
No One Wants To Be Defeated
Showin' How Funky Strong Is Your Fight
It Doesn't Matter Who's Wrong Or Right
    Just Beat It, Beat It
    Just Beat It, Beat It
    Just Beat It, Beat It
    Just Beat It, Beat It

You Have To Show Them That You're Really Not Scared
You're Playin' With Your Life, This Ain't No Truth Or Dare

    Beat It Song Information
Beat It was Thrillers third hit single to be released on February 14th 1983 hitting the number 1 spot in the US and number 3 in the UK, it stayed in the charts for 3 weeks.
Michael was one of the first artist to achieve having 2 hits in the top 5 hit charts, with Beat It, and Billie Jean.
With Eddie Van Halen playing a solo guitar piece on the track, Michael writing the track and Quincy Jones co producing it, it was said to be a pioneer in black rock music.
    In 1984 Beat It won 2 Grammy's.
It also won 2 AMA's and went platinum in 1989, it helped Thriller become the best selling album in the world.
By March 2009 Beat it had sold a total of 668,000 copies.
Beat It was performed with his brothers at the Jackson Victory tour, where Eddie Van Halen joined them on stage.
Michael also performed the song on his Bad, Dangerous and History tour and at his 30th Anniversary tour with Slash performing the solo guitarist piece.
A little while after Beat It was released it was used for an anti drunk driving campaign where he received an award from President Ronald Reagan for all his support, and stated that Americans should follow his example of a lifestyle with no alcohol or drugs.
In 2008 Will.I.Am and Fergie from Black Eyed Peas did a cover of Beat It for Thriller25 an album celebrating 25 years of Thriller.

Michael received royalties because of the similarities.
    Beat It Video
Beat It's music video shows 2 rival gang members heading for a fight, and Michael going to break it up bringing the 2 gangs together through dancing.
Beat It was directed by Bob Giraldi and choreographed by Michael Peters.
The video cost Michael $150,000 to make after CBS would not fund it.
Beat It's music video became famous for a number of reasons, first it was Michael's first video highlighting black youth and the dangers of gangs on the streets.
The second because of the dancing, one of Michael's trademarks became synchronized dancers.
In Beat It the cast consisted of 80 real gang members to make the situation feel real and 18 professional dancers, this video opened many job opportunities for dancers in the US.
The video later won many awards from an AMA's to the best male artist.
In April 2008 Fall Out Boy released a cover version of Beat It, they had not intended to cover it.

    "Billie Jean"

    [1st Verse]
She Was More Like A Beauty Queen From A Movie Scene
I Said Don't Mind, But What Do You Mean I Am The One
Who Will Dance On The Floor In The Round
She Said I Am The One Who Will Dance On The Floor In The Round

    [2nd Verse]
She Told Me Her Name Was Billie Jean, As She Caused A Scene
Then Every Head Turned With Eyes That Dreamed Of Being The One
Who Will Dance On The Floor In The Round

    [Bridge]
People Always Told Me Be Careful Of What You Do
And Don't Go Around Breaking Young Girls' Hearts
And Mother Always Told Me Be Careful Of Who You Love
And Be Careful Of What You Do 'Cause The Lie Becomes The Truth

    [Chorus]
Billie Jean Is Not My Lover
She's Just A Girl Who Claims That I Am The One
But The Kid Is Not My Son
She Says I Am The One, But The Kid Is Not My Son

    [3rd Verse]
For Forty Days And Forty Nights
The Law Was On Her Side
But Who Can Stand When She's In Demand
    Her Schemes And Plans
'Cause We Danced On The Floor In The Round
So Take My Strong Advice, Just Remember To Always Think Twice
    (Do Think Twice)

    [4th Verse]
She Told My Baby We'd Danced 'Till Three
    Then She Looked At Me
Then Showed A Photo My Baby Cried
    His Eyes Looked Like Mine
Go On Dance On The Floor In The Round, Baby

    [Bridge]
People Always Told Me Be Careful Of What You Do
And Don't Go Around Breaking Young Girls' Hearts
She Came And Stood Right By Me
Then The Smell Of Sweet Perfume
    This Happened Much Too Soon
She Called Me To Her Room

    [Chorus]
Billie Jean Is Not My Lover
She's Just A Girl Who Claims That I Am The One
But The Kid Is Not My Son
Billie Jean Is Not My Lover
She's Just A Girl Who Claims That I Am The One
But The Kid Is Not My Son
She Says I Am The One, But The Kid Is Not My Son
She Says I Am The One, But The Kid Is Not My Son
Billie Jean Is Not My Lover
She's Just A Girl Who Claims That I Am The One
But The Kid Is Not My Son
She Says I Am The One, But The Kid Is Not My Son
She Says I Am The One, She Says He Is My Son

    "Human Nature"

    Looking Out
    Across The Night-Time
The City Winks A Sleepless Eye
    Hear Her Voice
    Shake My Window
    Sweet Seducing Sighs

    Get Me Out
    Into The Night-Time
Four Walls Wont Hold Me Tonight
    If This Town
    Is Just An Apple
Then Let Me Take A Bite

    If They Say -
Why, Why, Tell Em That Is Human Nature
Why, Why, Does He Do Me That Way
    If They Say -
Why, Why, Tell Em That Is Human Nature
Why, Why, Does He Do Me That Way

    Reaching Out
    To Touch A Stranger
    Electric Eyes Are Evrywhere
    See That Girl
    She Knows Im Watching
She Likes The Way I Stare

    If They Say -
Why, Why, Tell Em That Is Human Nature
Why, Why, Does He Do Me That Way
    If They Say -
Why, Why, Tell Em That Is Human Nature
Why, Why, Does He Do Me That Way
    I Like Livin This Way
    I Like Lovin This Way

    Looking Out
    Across The Morning
The Citys Heart Begins To Beat
    Reaching Out
    I Touch Her Shoulder
    Im Dreaming Of The Street

    If They Say -
Why, Why, Tell Em That Is Human Nature

Thriller - the world's best-selling album of all time Mjhm

"Human Nature" is a song by American recording artist Michael Jackson. It was written by Steve Porcaro and John Bettis, and produced by Quincy Jones for the singer's sixth solo album, Thriller (1982). Initially, Porcaro had recorded a rough demo of the song on a cassette, which was then given to Jones. Enjoying the demo, Jones had the ballad included on the Thriller album. The song was the last selected for the album, ousting "Carousel" from the final track listing. It is widely credited as being one of Jackson's most captivating and emotional songs, and has been recognized by many as one of the great song ballads of all time.

"Human Nature" was released on July 3, 1983, as the album's fifth single. Although not released in the UK, the song achieved chart success in the US. Reaching number two on Billboard's Hot Adult Contemporary chart and number seven on the Hot 100, the song became Jackson's fifth Top 10 hit from Thriller. In New Zealand the single reached number 11. The ballad garnered many positive reviews from music critics.

    Background

"Human Nature" was written by Steve Porcaro of Toto and John Bettis for Michael Jackson's Thriller album. Initially, Porcaro recorded a rough demo of the song on a cassette. Fellow Toto band member David Paich then gave the demo, along with two songs written by Paich, to producer Quincy Jones, hoping they would be included on Thriller. Jones didn't like Paich's songs, but enjoyed the rough demo of "Human Nature" at the end of the cassette. Jones explained, "All of a sudden, at the end, there was all this silence, there was: 'why, why, dah dah da-dum dah dah, why, why'. Just a dummy lyric and a very skeletal thing—I get goosebumps talking about it. I said, 'This is where we wanna go, because it's got such a wonderful flavor'". Bettis, who had written lyrics for hits by The Carpenters and The Pointer Sisters, among others, was asked to add lyrics to the song. He completed the song in two days. The producer asked if the song could be included on Jackson's album, to which Porcaro and Bettis agreed. "Human Nature" was the last song selected for Thriller, ousting "Carousel" from the final track listing.

    Release and reception

"Human Nature" was released on July 3, 1983, as the fifth single from Thriller. Although not released in the UK, the song achieved moderate chart success in the US. Reaching number two on Billboard's Hot Adult Contemporary chart and number seven on the Hot 100, the song became Jackson's fifth Top 10 hit from Thriller. "Human Nature" charted at number 27 on the R&B singles chart. In the Netherlands the single reached number 11.

John Rockwell, of The New York Times, stated that "Human Nature" was a "haunting, brooding ballad" with an "irresistible" chorus. Allmusic noted that the "gentle and lovely" "Human Nature" coexisted comfortably with the "tough, scared" "Beat It". They later added that the song was a "soft rocker". Reflecting on Thriller, Slant expressed their fondness of the song, stating that it was "probably the best musical composition on the album and surely one of the only A/C ballads of its era worth remembering". The magazine added that the track's "buttery harmonies" were powerful. Stylus also praised the song, describing it as "the smoothest of ballads". They further added that the music "does little to embody the song’s message" and that it couches Jackson's "glazed voice" in "cloudy synths and drum pillows".

About.com's Bill Lamb looked back on the track 25 years after its release. He felt that the song "set down a blueprint for what would become known as adult R&B". Kelefa Sanneh of Blender described the "soft-serve balladry" of the song as a "silk-sheets masterstroke". In a 2008 IGN review, Todd Gilchrist explained that the elements of "Human Nature" worked better today than they did before. He added that it may be because modern R&B "sucks". Tom Ewing, reviewer for Pitchfork Media, described the song as "meltingly tender", with MTV adding that it was an "airy ballad". Rolling Stone claimed that the "most beautifully fragile" "Human Nature" was so open and brave it made "She's Out of My Life" seem phony. The Los Angeles Times concluded that it was Jackson's delivery that made the "middling ballad" take off.

    The Lady In My Life"

    [1st Verse]
    There'll Be No Darkness Tonight
    Lady Our Love Will Shine
Just Put Your Trust In My Heart
And Meet Me In Paradise, Girl
You're Every Wonder In This World To Me
A Treasure Time Won't Steal Away

    The Lady In My Life

    [Chorus]
    So Listen To My Heart
Lay Your Body Close To Mine
Let Me Fill You With My Dreams
I Can Make You Feel Alright
    And Baby Through The Years
Gonna Love You More Each Day
    So I Promise You Tonight
That You'll Always Be The Lady In My Life

    [Bridge]
    Lay Back In My Tenderness
Let's Make This A Night We Won't Forget
Girl, I Need Your Sweet Caress
    Reach Out To A Fantasy
Two Hearts In The Beat Of Ecstasy
    Come To Me, Girl

    [Chorus]
And I Will Keep You Warm
Through The Shadows Of The Night
Let Me Touch You With My Love
I Can Make You Feel So Right
    And Baby Through The Years
Even When We're Old And Gray
I Will Love You More Each Day
'Cause You Will Always Be The Lady In My Life

    Stay With Me
I Want You To Stay With Me...
