Trials & Tribulations is following Murray Prelim and they are taking detailed notes. As their notes requires transcribing and typing (which is not an easy task), it consumes some time to post their notes on their website. They do not wish their full notes to be copied and posted so as they post a new entry I'll go through it and post only important additional information and make corrections (if needed) to what we already heard from the press. If you want to read their full posts you can visit Trials and Tribulations website.

    Kenny Ortega Testimony

    - Kenny says around the time of MJ's death he was attending rehearsals 4 times a week, his schedule was to come late afternoon and he spent 6 hours maximum at rehearsals.

    - Kenny says that he met Murray in April or May 09 (soon after Kenny started to work at TII), he was introduced to Murray by Michael at Michael's house.

    - In the cross Kenny says he doubts even if TII was bad it would affect his reputation.

    - Kenny says he doesn't know who called the June 20 meeting and says heads of AEG wasn't there. (We already knew that the people at that meeting were MJ, Murray, Kenny Ortega, Frank Dileo and Randy Phillips)

    - Karen Faye : This is the questions that defense asks Kenny : "Do you remember having a conversation with Karen Faye after the meeting? Do you remember telling Karen Faye of reading Michael the riot act? Do you remember telling Karen Fay not to placate Michael? Did you advise Karen Faye in any respect in regard to how to treat Michael after this meeting? Did you discuss with Karen Faye any thing regarding how she should treat Michael?" Kenny responds No or don't remember to this questions.

    - Kenny says Michael missed a series of rehearsals (a week) in early June. He says this made him worried because everything needed Micheal's decision and/or approval and without it TII couldn't move forward.

    - Kenny says on June 25th Michael was supposed to arrive to rehearsals around 4:00-4:30 PM.

(Kenny also mentions taking TII to international places (India and Japan) and Michael wanting to direct with Kenny after TII)

    Michael Amir Williams testimony

    - Williams say that at the house there were 2 security 24/7 to open the gate and screen everyone that comes in.

    - Williams say that he met Murray in early 2008 in Las Vegas.

    - Williams say that it was regular pattern for Murray to be at the house when they came from rehearsals and that he would stay the night.

    - Williams say on June 24th Michael went to rehearsal around 6-7 PM , MJ was in great spirits and wanted to be there on time. He says the rehearsal ended past midnight. They drop Michael off as always and Williams went home.

    - Williams say he was at his house when Murray called. Faheem had left MJ's house to go to the bank and Alberto Alvarez was at the front door.

    - Williams say that no security/no staff was allowed upstairs perhaps with the exception of housekeeping to clean.

    - Children's nanny is identified as "Rosalie"

    - Williams describes the scene at the hospital : Doctors working on Michael behind a curtain, the kids are waiting in a room. Security and nanny is waiting outside in front of the room. Murray and doctors come out , tell them Michael is dead. Murray, Dileo and Williams walk into the room where the children are. Prince tells them "make sure to tell the doctors daddy's allergic to X, Y". Frank tells them "your daddy had a heart attack and died". Murray says "don't tell them that (heart attack?). We don't know".

    - Williams say that he discussed Murray's request to go back to MJ's house with Faheem and decided to say "police have our car keys". He also says he called the security detail at the house and said "don't let anyone in, don't let anyone out".

    - In cross examination member's of security's connection to Nation of Islam and "Security Measures" is questioned. He says the housekeepers and 3-4 of the security wasn't related to NOI.

EMT: Murray Denied Giving MJ Drugs

Another paramedic testified ... Dr. Conrad Murray denied giving Michael Jackson drugs as the singer lay lifeless in his bedroom.

Martin Blount said when he walked into MJ's room Murray was sweating profusely. Blount says Murray told EMTs he waited only one minute before calling 911.

But another paramedic testified earlier he believed Murray waited between 20 minutes to an hour to call 911.

    Senneff testimony continued today

    - UCLA tells them to call MJ dead. Murray assumes control and does not make the call.

    - Murray wants to insert a central line and give magnesium to MJ. Senneff says the EMT's are not trained in central lines and do not have magnesium at hand.

    - At some point while EMT's are working on MJ someone in the room identifies him as Michael Jackson.

    - When Murray says he heard a pulse on MJ's femoral artery (on the leg close to groin), Senneff checks the monitor. DA in cross examination ask if this can be a "false" pulse (pulse happens during CPR compressions).

    - When they left the house a paparazzi puts a camera to the window of the ambulance and runs with the ambulance. Murray requests that they cover MJ's face with a towel. Paramedics find this as a reasonable request.

    - Senneff says again they never heard a pulse and in his opinion MJ went down between 20 minutes and a hour prior their arrival.

    Martin BLOUNT testimony

    - Blount has 20 years experience, was the driver of the ambulance. He's the last of the paramedics in the room. He brings the gurney and other gear. He was by MJ's head.

    - He inserts ET tube and gives air to MJ by pumping a hand pump. He sees an Oxygen tank and nasal canula (tubing that goes around the nose and connected to an Oxygen tank).

    - Paramedics notice IV on MJ isn't working properly so they are looking for a new place to insert additional IV. They touch MJ's arms looking for a place and think that his body was "cool".

    - Paramedics decide to stick the additional IV by the jugular, at that time they realize MJ's eyes were "blown". Blount's opinion is that MJ was already dead.

    - Blount says at one time Murray showed them an hypodermic needle 24 gage which he calls strange as Murray told them he didn't give MJ anything. Also he sees bottles on the floor and bottles of lidocaine. He also calls "condom catheter" presence as odd.

    - Murray makes a phone call in the ambulance.

    - In cross examination Murray's lawyers say that Blount actually told detectives that MJ's skin "not warm, not cool".

    - Blount says one of the paramedics asked Murray if MJ was taking recreational drugs. Murray says no.

    - Murray's defense mentions a paramedic tried 3 times to find a vein on MJ's arms and couldn't and asks if finding veins on drug addicts are hard? Blount gives an example of a known drug addict and being able to find a vein. Defense again asks if it could be difficult. Blount agrees.

Paparazzi, fans hampered paramedics from getting stricken pop star to hospital

A paramedic who tried in vain to save Michael Jackson’s life testified Thursday that an unruly crowd of paparazzi and tourists outside the pop star’s home hampered efforts to get to the hospital.

“It’s a circus out there. It’s unbelievable,” recalled Los Angeles City Fire Department paramedic Richard Senneff of the scene outside Jackson’s Holmby Hills mansion June 25, 2009.

The witness testified on the second day of testimony at a hearing to determine whether there is enough evidence to try Dr. Conrad Murray for involuntary manslaughter. Senneff said that the ambulance driver had trouble navigating away from the residence because of a throng that included passengers of a tour bus and photographers with “big cameras, little cameras, video cameras, still cameras.”

At one point, a man with a video camera ran alongside the ambulance holding a camera with a large lens against the window. “It just seemed wrong,” he said. Under questioning by a defense lawyer, Senneff said Murray wanted to put a “central line” to restart Jackson’s heart, but that medics did not have equipment or training to do so. He said the singer did not respond to two rounds of drugs to revive him and hospital officials told him over the radio to “call” Jackson’s death, but that neither he nor Murray wanted to do so. “I said, 'Be advised, this is a very high-profile VIP,' ” Senneff said.

The 50-year-old singer was pronounced dead at UCLA Medical Center. Senneff said rescue workers had gone “above and beyond” the call of duty in the field not because Jackson was a celebrity, but “because it was someone’s son.” Katherine Jackson, the singer’s mother, listened intently in the courtroom gallery. Judge Michael Pastor also heard from a second paramedic who, like Senneff, said that Murray initially claimed he had not given his patient any medication.

Martin Blount said the denial struck him as odd because he saw a hypodermic needle and three bottles of lidocaine in the room. Murray, he said, “scooped up” the bottles and placed them in a bag before they left for the hospital. “Did you ever see those bottles again,” Deputy Dist. Atty. David Walgren asked. “No, sir,” Blount replied.

A paramedic sent to Michael Jackson's mansion says he saw the doctor charged in the singer's death scoop up three bottles of lidocaine from the floor and place the vials in a bag during efforts to revive the pop star.

Paramedic Martin Blount testified Thursday he was surprised to see the bottles because Dr. Conrad Murray had told paramedics he hadn't given Jackson any drugs.

He says Murray also produced a hypodermic needle at one point and wanted to use it on the singer. Blount says he and fellow paramedics refused.

He described Murray as frantic and sweating profusely.

Little additional info about Blount's testimony

Blount said he thinks Jackson may have been dead for at least 20 minutes before he and other emergency personnel arrived.

Murray's defense attorney, Joseph Low IV, did not ask Blount about the bottles (3 bottles of lidocaine) on cross-examination.

Blount said Murray told paramedics that Jackson had passed out about a minute before 911 was called. However, Blount's partner, paramedic Richard Senneff, previously testified that Jackson's hands and feet were turning blue by the time he arrived.

Senneff testified Wednesday that Murray never mentioned that he had given Jackson propofol, and that he saw no signs in the room of propofol or other sedatives that were later found in Jackson's body.

Phone Company -- Murray Called Everyone BUT 911

Two reps from the phone company testified in the hours surrounding the revelation that Michael Jackson was lifeless in bed, Murray was texting and calling lots of people, but never called 911.

The records show Murray was sending and receiving multiple texts. Two particularly interesting ones at 12:03 and 12:04 PM ... the person Murray was texting was in Texas.

It's unclear if the texts had anything to do with the two woman in Murray's office who went to a storage facility to retrieve boxes.

Murray also called a number of people, including his girlfriend, Nicole Alvarez, but the only record shows 1:08 PM. This is inconsistent with what law enforcement tells TMZ -- that he was on the phone with Alvarez just after 12 noon and when Murray realized MJ was in distress he dropped the phone.

    Trials and Tribulations update

There were two witnesses that introduced phone records. It was rapid fire information and I missed quite a bit of it. I will probably summarize it since it was just to introduce the phone calls and text messages records. The actual content of those phone calls and text messages will come later. The most interesting thing is to see "when" Dr. Murray was on the phone and how long those phone calls and messages lasted. And, Dr. Murray had two phones. An iPhone and a Sprint-Nextel phone registered to him. And it appears he was actively using both phones for text and calls all through the morning of June 25th.

Conrad Murray texted, use cellphone when he should have been monitoring pop star, prosecutors say

Dr. Conrad Murray was talking on the phone and texting during the period authorities say he should have been closely monitoring Michael Jackson’s vital signs, according to records prosecutors displayed in court Thursday.

In the approximately five hours before Murray discovered that his famous patient had stopped breathing, he had 11 phone conversations on two different phones. A trio of back-to-back calls lasting 45 minutes led directly to the moment when prosecutors say the physician realized Jackson was in cardiac arrest.

The records were presented on the third day of a Superior Court hearing to determine whether prosecutors have enough evidence to try Murray for involuntary manslaughter in Jackson’s June 25, 2009 death.

Prosecutors have accused him of an “extreme deviation” from the standard of medical care by, among other things, administering the surgical anesthetic propofol without proper monitoring. There are no witnesses to the treatment Murray provided Jackson nightly because the singer did not permit employees upstairs in his mansion, but a prosecutor said in his opening statement that the phone records are circumstantial evidence that he was distracted and not paying attention to the singer.

According to testimony from a phone company representative, Murray sent or received five text messages on his iPhone in this period. His phone conversations on that phone and a Sprint cellphone included calls with his practice in Las Vegas, a clinic he runs in Houston, an employee and another doctor. All told, he spent close to an hour and a half on the phone in the five-hour period.

The records also show the frantic call Murray, 57, placed to Jackson’s personal assistant after he found the performer lifeless in the bed and a two-minute call with his girlfriend, Nicole Alvarez, apparently made while Murray was riding in the back of an ambulance with his patient.

He also sent two text messages just within a minute or two of the time when prosecutors believe he saw Jackson was stricken. Harry Daliwal, an AT&T area manager, testified that it is possible to recover the contents of text messages, but that he does not know how to do so.

Two doctors from the UCLA Medical Center testified ... Michael Jackson was dead on arrival, yet Dr. Murray told them "not to give up easily and try to save the patient."

Dr. Richelle Cooper testified when Jackson arrived at UCLA there was "no signs of life."

Dr. Cooper added Murray was not forthcoming about the drugs administered to MJ. Cooper says Murray copped to giving Michael lorezapam, but made no mention of Propofol.

And this was interesting. Cooper says MJ weighed 136 lbs.

Trials and Tribulations is following Murray Prelim and they are taking detailed notes. They are also making updates from the court. They do not wish their full notes to be copied and posted so as they post a update I'll go through and make a summary here. If you want to read their full posts you can visit Trials and Tribulation website.

    Dr. Cooper

    - UCLA receives call from paramedics. They estimate time of cardiac arrest as 12:18 (this is an "estimated time" based on 911 call and information they receive). As the revival efforts produce no results Dr. Cooper gave the paramedics permission to pronounce MJ dead at 12:57. Dr. Cooper told for the transport Murray had to take over the control and be with the patient.

    - When they come to the hospital Murray tells MJ wasn't ill only had trouble sleeping and dehydrated, gave him lorezapeam, witnessed the cardiac arrest. She's later asked what is "witnessing the arrest" means she says "seeing patient stop breathing".

    - Dr. Cooper asks if there were any chest pain before cardiac arrest, Murray says no.

    - Murray mentions Flomax and Valium.

    - Dr. Cooper says MJ was DOA (no sign of life, pupils fixed and dilated, no pulse, no sign of trauma) still tried to revive him, they worked on MJ for 1 hour 26 minutes. She says she never felt or observed pulse on MJ.

    - Dr. Cooper also asked Murray about recreational drug use. She says this is a common question as MJ came in with an unexplained cardiac arrest (they didn't know propofol).

    - Dr. Cooper gets asked a lot of questions about propofol and it's usage (if she knows the drug, if she used it and such). Cooper says "Protocol requires certain monitoring to administer propofol. There needs to be equipment available to monitor the airway. There must be heart monitoring. There has to be a staff person available as their only job to monitor the euqipment/patient. So that the patient doesn’t die"

    - Dr. Cooper is asked how much propofol she would give to someone MJ's weight (136 lb), she says she would start with 60mg. She says a dose of 25mg wouldn't last longer than 5-10 minutes and a dose wears of in 20-30 minutes.

    - Cross examination Dr. Cooper is asked if she knew Murray given MJ propofol it would have made any difference in her treatment. She says no, she was treating cardiac arrest. She also adds getting drug history helps them give the relevant treatment and understand what happened.

    - Walgren asks if the drugs on top of drugs were given to MJ, that would be an accumulative effect? Dr. Cooper answers yes.

    - Murray was in the ER room and hands on.

    Dr. Thao Nguyen

    - She is a cardiologist and is called to the ER by Dr. Cooper.

    - She says Murray never mentioned Propofol or benzodiazapine medications.

    - Murray also tells her that MJ was getting ready for a tour, had trouble sleeping and he gave him 4 miligrams of adavan (mirazapam) via IV. She asks Murray if he tried to reverse the effect of the adavan? Murray says no. She asks if he gave any other medicines , Murray says no.

    - Murray tells he doesn't have a watch and he doesn't know how long MJ was down. Murray couldn't give an estimate about when the drug was injected and how long MJ was down.

    - She does the balloon pump although she thinks it wouldn't work based on everything done already. An agreement was made with Dr. Murray that if the balloon pump failed, then they would call the time of death.

    __________________________________

    Dr. Thao Nguyen

    - She is asked how much mirazapan she would give to 136 lb patient. She says that she would start with a small dose of 1 mg and need to know the prior use of the drug with the patient.

    - She says Murray's voice sounded calm and normal but he looked devastated.

    - She says Murray didn't want them to stop the efforts.

    Dan Myers - Detective

    - He talks about the phone calls.

    - 7:01am call to Andrew Butler. Murray's patient.

    - 8:49 am Angelette Guild. Murray's patient. Called Murray to ask about the note she got saying that Murray wouldn't be in his office.

Dr. Richelle Cooper is the 10th witness to take the stand.

Dr. Cooper is an attending physician at UCLA Hospital and was working as an ER doctor the day that MJ was brought to the hospital.

Dr. Cooper says the estimated time of MJ cardiac arrest was 12:18 p.m.

Cooper gave permission to pronounce MJ dead at 12:57 p.m. but was told that MJ personal doc wanted to continue with life saving efforts.

Dr. Cooper testifies MJ, Murray and emergency personnel got to the ER around 1:13 p.m.

Dr. Cooper says Murray informed her that he’d given MJ Lorazepam and that MJ 'takes Valium and Flomax'

Cooper says even though she thought MJ was dead when he arrived to the ER, efforts to revive him went on for about an hour and 13 minutes.

Dr. Cooper says Murray never told her he’d given Jackson propofol.

On cross Cooper tells defense attorney J. Michael Flanagan even if she'd known MJ was given Propofol it wouldn’t have altered ER treatment.

The 11th witness is Dr. Thao Nguyen - a cardiology fellow at UCLA.

Dr. Nguyen was in the ER the day MJ was brought in. She remembers seeing Conrad Murray there as well.

Dr. Nguyen says while they were in the ER, Murray told her MJ had difficulty sleeping and he’d given him Lorazepam - no other meds.

Nguyen testifies Murray told her he found MJ not breathing but he couldn’t remember the time.

Nguyen says Murray’s exact words were he ‘did not have any concept of time’ which is why he was unable to say when MJ stopped breathing.

On cross examination Nguyen describes Murray as appearing devastated in the ER.

Cooper officially pronounced MJ dead at 2:26 p.m.

The 12th witness to take the stand is Dan Myers – a senior homicide detective with the LAPD.

Myers was one of the lead investigators into MJ death.

Myers went through Conrad Murray AT&T and Nextel cell phone records to identify the people whose numbers were indicated in the records.

Court is in recess. Dan Myers' testimony will continue tomorrow.

    - When Murray says he heard a pulse on MJ's femoral artery (on the leg close to groin), Senneff checks the monitor. DA in cross examination ask if this can be a "false" pulse (pulse happens during CPR compressions).

    - Senneff said the singer did not respond to two rounds of drugs to revive him and hospital officials told him over the radio to “call” Jackson’s death, but that neither he nor Murray wanted to do so. “I said, 'Be advised, this is a very high-profile VIP,' ” Senneff said.

-Senneff said rescue workers had gone “above and beyond” the call of duty in the field not because Jackson was a celebrity, but “because it was someone’s son.”

    - When they left the house a paparazzi puts a camera to the window of the ambulance and runs with the ambulance. “It just seemed wrong,” Senneff said. Murray requests that they cover MJ's face with a towel. Paramedics find this as a reasonable request.

    - Senneff said that the ambulance driver had trouble navigating away from the residence because of a throng that included passengers of a tour bus and photographers with “big cameras, little cameras, video cameras, still cameras.”

    - Senneff says again they never heard a pulse and in his opinion MJ went down between 20 minutes and a hour prior their arrival.

    EMT Martin Blount Testimony

    - Blount has 20 years experience, was the driver of the ambulance. He's the last of the paramedics in the room. He brings the gurney and other gear. He was by MJ's head.

    - He inserts ET tube and gives air to MJ by pumping a hand pump. He sees an Oxygen tank and nasal canula (tubing that goes around the nose and connected to an Oxygen tank).

    - Paramedics notice IV on MJ isn't working properly so they are looking for a new place to insert additional IV. They touch MJ's arms looking for a place and think that his body was "cool".

    - Paramedics decide to stick the additional IV by the jugular, at that time they realize MJ's eyes were "blown" (fixed and dilated). Blount's opinion is that MJ was already dead. Blount said Murray told paramedics that MJ had passed out about a minute before 911 was called.

    - Blount says at one time Murray showed them an hypodermic needle 24 gage which he calls strange as Murray told them he didn't give MJ anything. He also said that paramedics refused to use the needle. Also he sees bottles of lidocaine on the floor. He also calls "condom catheter" presence as odd.

    - Blount says he saw Murray scoop up three bottles of lidocaine from the floor and place the vials in a bag during they are trying to revive MJ.

    - Blount describes Murray as frantic and sweating profusely.

    Jeff Strohn (Sprint Nextel) Testimony

-Strohn's documents show there were 6 phone calls - 3 outgoing & 3 incoming - associated with Murray's phone number.

    - Phone calls
8:49 am from 5217 to Murray 53 seconds
10:22 am from 0124 to Murray 111 seconds
10:34 am from Murray to 3233 8 and a half minutes
11:26 am from 9566 to Murray seven seconds
1:08 pm from Murray to 070 2 minutes

    Overall cell phone activity summary:

    - In the approximately five hours before Murray discovered MJ, he had 11 phone conversations on two different phones. Three back-to-back calls lasted 45 minutes just before Murray discovered MJ.

    - According to testimony from a phone company representative, Murray sent or received five text messages on his iPhone in this period. His phone conversations on that phone and a Sprint cellphone included calls with his practice in Las Vegas, a clinic he runs in Houston, an employee and another doctor. All told, he spent close to an hour and a half on the phone in the five-hour period.

    - The records also show the call from Murray to Michael Amir (MJ's personal assistant) and a two-minute call with his girlfriend, Nicole Alvarez, apparently made while Murray was riding in the back of an ambulance.

    - Murray also sent two text messages just within a minute or two of the time when prosecutors believe he saw Jackson was stricken.

    Dr. Richelle Cooper (UCLA) Testimony

She was told that MJ personal doc wanted to continue with life saving efforts. Dr. Cooper told for the transport Murray had to take over the control and be with the patient.

    - Dr. Cooper testifies MJ, Murray and emergency personnel got to the ER around 1:13 p.m.. When they come to the hospital Murray tells MJ wasn't ill only had trouble sleeping and dehydrated, gave him lorezapeam, witnessed the cardiac arrest.

    Dr. Thao Nguyen (UCLA) Testimony

Nguyen says Murray’s exact words were he ‘did not have any concept of time’ which is why he was unable to say when MJ stopped breathing.

    - She does the balloon pump although she thinks it wouldn't work based on everything done already. An agreement was made with Dr. Murray that if the balloon pump failed, then they would call the time of death.
