‘This Is It’: Jackson inducted into National Dance Hall of Fame

SARATOGA SPRINGS — Local fans joined the Spa City’s social elite Sunday night at the National Museum of Dance and Hall of Fame to pay tribute to the hall’s newest inductee, the “King of Pop,” Michael Jackson.

Local dancers Iraida Volodina and Ricardo Sopin, (“Dancing with the Stars,”) and twin Argentinean duo Martin and Facundo Lombard, (Disney’s Step Up 3D), performed tribute routines before a trophy was presented to Marlon Jackson.

“The people are so great here,” said Jackson, who was in Saratoga Springs for the first time to accept the award on his younger brother’s behalf.

“He would’ve appreciated this,” Jackson said of his brother, saying he was the type of person who never took praise of his talent or his many accolades and accomplishments for granted.

In his acceptance remarks, Jackson told attendees about how he and Michael would visit children’s hospitals at the height of their fame to entertain ill children, and how they had given back to the fans that supported them throughout the years.

“We didn’t have his style of dance in the hall of fame,” said Michele Riggi, president of the museum’s board of directors, calling Jackson’s talent “incredible.”

Riggi welled up with tears while reading a letter addressed to her from Katherine Jackson, Marlon’s and Michael’s mother, thanking the museum for the honor and recognition of her son’s achievements

Museum founder Marylou Whitney and her husband, John Hendrickson, were in attendance, along with museum board member and Arthur Murray dance studio owner Leslie Valencia and U.S. Rep. Paul Tonko, D-Schenectady.

A panel featuring images and a quote from the “King of Pop” was also unveiled.

Jackson will join the likes of Fred Astaire, Bill “Bojangles” Robinson and Alvin Ailey in the hall.

An exhibit displaying props from his “This Is It” show, which he was rehearsing for when he died, and screens showing classic Jackson videos and the film of the same name, will run at the museum for a year following the induction.

Michael Jackson’s parents split after 60-year marriage



Katherine Jackson and Joe Jackson[HMG] – In another sad twist to the bizarre world that surrounded the late Michael Jackson, his parents have announced they are now divorcing after 60-years of marriage.

The cause of the split is said to be Katherine’s desire to be finally free of Joe’s cruel behavior and taunts. The latest example is a suggestion by Joe that Katherine, 80, was to blame for Michael’s untimely death.

”I begged her to go over and stay with him, but she insisted he needed his privacy,’ he told reporters in June.

Mrs. Jackson’s reps since released a statement saying; ‘Joe Jackson’s statement and conduct toward Mrs. Jackson are outrageous.” Referring to stories that Joe often beat Michael, it continues; ‘The world also knows who Joe Jackson is and he seems bent on never letting us forget.”

And the reputation seems earned – Joe is not even mentioned in Michael’s will, and in 2007 the singer flatly accused his father of beating him as a child.

“My father would rehearse us with a belt in his hand, you couldn’t mess up.” he told reporters. “I would never get spanked during rehearsals or practice – afterwards was when i got in trouble.”

Married in 1949, the now former couple have lived apart for five years. Mrs. Jackson lives in Encino, California with Michael’s three children, Prince Michael, 13, 12-year old Paris, 12, and 8-year old Prince Michael II, while Joe Jackson is based in Las Vegas.

Their marriage also produced the five Jackson brothers, plus four other children and 26 grandchildren.

As a Jehovah’s Witness, Mrs. Jackson has previously avoided divorce as her religion disapproves of it. But her reps say she regards this latest attack as the final straw and is determined to end their connection.

‘She’s been humiliated by him for too long,” a friend tells the Mail. “She’s absolutely livid. There’s no going back.’

The former spouses were last seen together at Michael’s funeral on September 3rd of last year. There’s no word on any upcoming court date for the divorce but we’ll keep you advised if that changes…

Ne-Yo to give Janet Jackson tribute songs

Ne-Yo is planning to recruit Janet Jackson to record music he wrote for her late brother Michael, insisting it would be "disrespectful" to hand the songs over to an artist outside the musical family.

The King of Pop approached Ne-Yo to write him an album's worth of material shortly before he passed away last summer.

Jackson never had the opportunity to record the tracks but Ne-Yo still wants them to be heard by fans - and is hoping to give them to the superstar's siblings to sing.

Ne-Yo tells the Daily Star, "I've been trying to figure out what to do with those songs. I can't give them to anybody else because they were written for Michael. That would be disrespectful.

"So if I could get Janet and the brothers to do a collaborative tribute, that would be a great idea.

"There are about 10 he personally selected. He told me, 'I like this one, this one, this one.' I can't just put them out by myself because again they were meant for him but they're really good songs, it's good quality music."

Michael Jackson Birthday Tribute Planned

Officials in Michael Jackson's hometown of Gary, Indiana, are planning a birthday tribute on Saturday (28.08.10), the day before what would have been the late singer's 52nd birthday.


Michael Jackson's hometown is planning a birthday tribute to the singer.

The late 'Thriller' hitmaker - who died of acute Propofol intoxication at his home in Los Angeles on June 25 last year - will be honoured with a special 'This Is It' birthday party outside his childhood home in Gary, Indiana on Saturday (28.08.10), the day before what should have been his 52nd birthday.

Gary Mayor Rudy Clay said: "The passing of our favourite son, Michael Jackson, is still fresh in our hearts. A year later, on the day before his birthday, we honour his memory as a great and giving person and as the world's greatest entertainer."

Michael's father, Joe Jackson, will attend a cake cutting ceremony at the tribute, which will also feature a group 'Thriller' dance.

As well as the birthday celebrations, a separate four-day MJFanvention begins in the town tomorrow (26.08.10).

The main attraction at the fan event will be a special tribute concert on Saturday, featuring Tony Award-winner Melba Moore and the late singer's former tour guitarist Jennifer Batten, as well as impersonator Edward Moss and a choir of Indiana residents.

A stage production based on the life and music of the legendary singer entitled 'Yesterday, Today & Forever ' will also take place in the town on Thursday (26.08.10).

Michael's mother Katherine Jackson unveiled an 8ft granite plaque in his honour at the house in Gary on the first anniversary of the King of Pop's death earlier this year.

The Jacksons left Gary in 1969 after the Jackson 5 became a successful recording group.

The Jackson Family Foundation - headed by the late singer's father - is planning to build a multi-million-dollar museum, golf course and performing arts centre in Michael's honour in the town.

And Paul McKenna's formula certainly seems to have worked for him.
It emerged last night that the television hypnotist is considering paying £19million for the Los Angeles home where Michael Jackson spent his final days.

The 46-year-old, who started out as a radio DJ and went on to become Britain's most successful non-fiction author, viewed the house on Monday and is said to be 'very interested'.
It is his success in the U.S. - including a new TV deal - that has prompted him to consider splashing out the huge sum.
A friend of the star said: 'Paul was blown away by the sheer elegance of the property. It is one of the classiest houses in LA. It has the most incredible design - none of the gaucheness that LA homes often have.'
Another friend revealed: 'Paul is looking for a larger house. He has made Los Angeles his home and with his new TV series and book deal, he thinks this would be the ideal next step.'

The palatial mansion became infamous when Jackson collapsed there hours before he died in June last year. He had been paying £60,000 a month to rent the property from its owner, the manufacturing mogul Hubert Guez, who has put it on the market for £18.9million.
Built in 2002, the 17,171 sq ft seven-bedroom house sits in 1.26 acres in the exclusive Holmby Hills area.
The estate is gated and heavily fortified and there is underground parking for seven cars. Other features include 12 fireplaces, 13 bathrooms, a library, home cinema and a wine cellar. There is also an outdoor heated swimming pool and a separate guest house.
McKenna, who is single, currently lives in a £3.4million house in West Hollywood Hills. His new TV deal sees him team with American Idol presenter Ryan Seacrest for a series called The Incurables.

In it, McKenna will try to help people with serious mental or physical disorders, including a man with Tourette's syndrome and a woman who eats her own hair.
The Incurables is McKenna's second U.S. series and will be shown on Manhattan-based cable channel A&E.
His previous show, I Can Make You Thin, became one of Discovery Channel's highest-rated shows of 2008, securing McKenna a two-year 'golden handcuffs' deal reported to be worth £15million.
The Daily Mail has also learned that McKenna has signed a £ 3million publishing deal with Sterling books. 'The book deal shows just how the U.S. has fallen in love with Paul,' a friend said. In recent years, a host of U.S. celebrities have credited McKenna with helping them.
Chat-show hostess Ellen DeGeneres cried as she told how the hypnotist helped her quit smoking.
The celebrity lifestyle is a far cry from the star's beginnings as the son of a builder and teacher in Enfield, North London. It was as a DJ for Bedfordshire-based Chiltern Radio that he interviewed a hypnotist, becoming so intrigued that he began studying the subject.

Lenny Kravitz Re-Working Duet with the 'King of Pop'

Michael Jackson and Lenny Kravitz had been in the studio just prior to the ‘King of Pop's’ death last year to record the song, "Another Day." Jackson was singing on the track with Lenny Kravitz playing along.

Back in January, a 30 second snippet of the song was leaked onto the Internet. Kravitz denied that he was the cause of the leak. One thing that he did do, however, was to then negotiate with Jackson's record label to try to get the track that the two artists collaborated on, officially released.

Kravitz admits that the session that he had with Michael back in 2009 was "one of the most amazing musical experiences" of his life and in announcing that he was reworking the song that he was recording with Michael, on what would have been Jackson's 52nd birthday was quite fitting.

It makes no sense that Kravitz would have leaked a clip of the track back in January. There is no reason for Kravitz to posture in an attempt to force the record label to allow him to release the song for his own personal, financial gain. It will be interesting to hear what Kravitz does the recording studio with the “Another Day,” and it gives fans of both Kravitz and Michael Jackson hope in hearing new music from one of the greatest artists of our generation.

Michael Jackson’s New Album: So Close And Yet, So Far Away

An album of Michael Jackson‘s unreleased music is still for a November release from Sony.

But really, among the insiders, no one knows what’s going to be on it. Or if it will be ready in time. The word is that Sony/Columbia Records chief Rob Stringer recently made a trip west to see what the heck is going on. It’s unclear what he found.

In the Jackson world, things are vaguer than ever on this subject.

My sources say there are different camps working on different tracks, and that at some point someone is going to have to make some decisions. One thing is for certain: no one is talking to Jackson’s long time engineer, Bruce Swedien, the man who actually knows what music is available from all his different sessions.

So producer Rodney Jerkins is working on a few tracks, I am told. Some of them may be from that group of songs Michael recorded with Eddie Cascio in his New Jersey home studio three summers ago.

On the other side, John McClain – Jackson’s co-executor and long time family friend– is said to be working on some songs with Michael’s brother Jackie Jackson. Jackie was recently put on the estate’s payroll as a family liaison. He’s said to be the “most reasonable” of the Jackson brothers, and the one with whom everyone gets along. Akon is also said to be working on one or two tracks.

But McClain is another issue. It was under his aegis that the unearthed song, “This Is It,” was produced and released as part of the movie and soundtrack of the same name. But the song wasn’t a hit. One listen to Paul Anka‘s version of it, live, and you see what could have been. Anka has another unreleased track in the Jackson archives.

But the clock is ticking: two months from a release date, and there’s no concept, title, artwork or marketing plan.

Michael Jackson`s New Album Details with Track List: First Exclusive Inside Info

The new album of late legendary King Of Pop will have a likely release on November , but this is possible only if the promotional work for the album begins from the middle of next month .

But there are also reports that Sony Music is planning to release a couple of singles in November and the album will be released only during the Christmas week.

The deadline set by Sony Music to Jackson’s estate for the submission of the material is on the second week of September.

In addition to this ,there are four untitled tracks written and composed by R Kelly, which are likely to be considered for the final list of the tracks.

Teddy Riley , R Kelly, and Rodney Jerkins, have all confirmed that they are working for Jackson’s new album.

The album will be produced by John McClain and John Branca.

The album will be released world wide by Sony Music .

Michael Jackson - Jackson Love Child Bid Thrown Out Of Court

A woman alleging she is MICHAEL JACKSON's illegitimate love child has had her legal bid to lay claim to the King of Pop's fortune shot down by a Los Angeles judge.

Mocienne Petit Jackson, who lives in the Netherlands, filed court papers in Los Angeles County Superior Court in July (10), asking a judge for permission to conduct a DNA test to prove her paternity claim.

In her legal documents, Petit Jackson stated she was the daughter of Diana Ross' sister, Dr. Barbara Ross-Lee. She also claimed to be the result of a 1975 fling - when Jackson was 17.

However, her paternity claim was thrown into doubt when Ross-Lee spoke out to deny the claims, insisting Petit Jackson was "delusional" and had made up the bizarre story - because she had never even met the late superstar.

A judge ruled against Petit Jackson during a hearing on Tuesday (07Sep10) and her case was thrown out of court, according to TMZ.com.

Jackson 'Lovechild' Wants Case Reconsidered

A woman who alleges she is MICHAEL JACKSON's lovechild is begging a judge to reconsider her case - two days after it was thrown out of court.

Mocienne Petit Jackson filed a motion on Thursday (09Sep10) asking a Los Angeles judge to reconsider her paternity claims after her request for a DNA test was rejected on Tuesday (07Jul10).

In new legal documents obtained by TMZ.com, Petit Jackson claims she owns audio tapes which feature "my father, Michael Joseph Jackson, in his very own words and in public implicitly mentions my existence".

Jackson alleges she is the daughter of Diana Ross' sister, Dr. Barbara Ross-Lee. She also claimed to be the result of a 1975 fling - when Jackson was 17.

Montreal-based ID Communications has taken on international distribution rights to documentary Michael Jackson: The Untold Story of Neverland.

Larry Nimmer directs.

Майката на Майкъл Джаксън - Катрин, е подала иск срещу компанията Ай И Джи (AEG), организатор на неосъществилото се турне на Краля на попа в Англия през 2009 г., за това, че го е подтикнала към изтощителни репетиции, въпреки влошеното му здраве, и не му е осигурила подходящи медицински грижи.

Джаксън почина на 25 юни 2009 г. на 50-годишна възраст от свръхдоза лекарства, седмици преди началото на турнето.

Лекарят му - Конрад Мъри е обвинен в непредумишлено убийство, защото е дал на певеца лекарствата, причинили смъртта му.

Катрин Джаксън обвинява Ай И Джи, че е проявила небрежност, наемайки Мъри да се грижи за здравето на певеца, без да се увери в компетентността му и дали разполага с необходимото оборудване.

Jackson Fans Charged To Leave Cemetery Flowers

Fans of MICHAEL JACKSON are reportedly set to be charged $3 (£2) if they wish to leave flowers at the superstar's tomb in California.

The King of Pop was interred at the Forest Lawn Cemetery memorial in Glendale, California following his death last year (09).

Fans have flocked to pay their respects since then - with many leaving floral tributes.

But now, devotees of the Thriller hitmaker will have to pay $3 to lay flowers inside the site's mausoleum, according to TMZ.com.

The phrase "time capsule" has been in use since about 1939.

There will come a day, when there is no longer any person walking the planet who can say they were alive when Michael Jackson was alive.

This initiative was begun with the intention of preserving Michael Jackson’s legacy for generations to come.

Try to envisage a time, many many years from now, where an archaeological dig uncovers a box containing memories, photographs, writings, video footage of Michael Jackson.

Imagine if thousands of these boxes were uncovered in different locations across the globe.

Michael Jackson was very concerned about the damage to the planet, and this project bears in mind the environmental impact. We are seeking advice from a sustainability expert to ensure that this project is as environmentally friendly as possible, with the current research suggesting that the most appropriate vessel for the time capsule would be a stone planter, or a casserole dish.


Many time capsules today contain only artifacts of limited value to future historians. Historians suggest that items which describe the daily lives of the people who created them, such as personal notes, pictures, and documents, would greatly increase the value of the time capsule to future historians.

The executors of MICHAEL JACKSON's estate have signed a deal to create a new website which will host a virtual world called Planet Michael. The multi-player online game will enable fans to keep in touch, trade virtual King of Pop merchandise and earn credits by performing Jackson-themed challenges. The site will launch next year (11).
