Michael Jackson estate earns $275M in 2010

According to Parade Magazine’s contemporary celebrity salary expose, 2010 return for Michael Jackson’s estate totaled an incomprehensible $275M. Even if the figure is impressive, even more impressive are the mountains of debt the pop icon left in the rear.

At the time of Jackson’s death, the net gratitude of his estate was estimated at north of $300M. Per the Wall Street Journal, Jackson’s care for Katherine’s home, was in jeopardy of being lost if a loan worth tens of millions of dollars was not repaid to the lender (in this case, a hedge fund). Jackson had also amassed a long list of less vital, but noteworthy bills, such as $341,000 still owed to Thomas Mesereau, the lawyer who helped him escape conviction for molestation.

Of the $275M in 2010 return, an estimated $60M was collected for civil rights to deliver the documentary “This is It”; $11M came from Beatles song store dividends; and the bulk of the remainder came from album sales and copyrighted song royalties.

Fulham chairman Mohamed Fayed to unveil statue of Michael Jackson outside Craven Cottage

Fulham’s chairman Mohamed Al-Fayed will unveil a commemorative statue of Michael Jackson at Craven Cottage on Sunday 3 April to honour the friendship he shared with the singer.
When Al-Fayed commissioned the statue in 2009 he planned to place it in pride of place outside Harrods in Knightsbridge. The sale of the landmark department store left him with a dilemma: where to put the statue? Craven Cottage was seen as the natural alternative, according to the club.

The statue, depicting the singer in one of his most famous poses, has been placed adjacent to the Riverside and Hammersmith Stands on the banks of the river Thames.

Fulham’s Chairman enjoyed a long and happy friendship with the megastar. As well as making several visits to Harrods he also attended Craven Cottage at Fayed's invitation, accompanying the Egyptian to watch Fulhan's 2-0 victory over Wigan in 1999.

Fayed was full of praise for the singer when he made the announcement.

"Michael Jackson was truly a legend, a term used too often in this modern world saturated in the hyperbole surrounding celebrity," said the millionaire.

"He was my friend, a man with whom I shared many happy memories and who died a tragic and untimely death. He left behind a legacy of music so vast it takes one’s breath away; from a precocious talent to an ingenuity and groundbreaking modernity that shall never be repeated. It shall often be imitated, but it will never be replicated, Michael Jackson was, and shall always remain, one of a kind."
Fayed took care to compliment the fans - who might be somewhat surprised to find out who is now rubbing shoulders with the statue of Fulham legend Johnny Haynes.

"I hope that many fans of his will visit the statue at the Cottage from far and wide, and that Fulham fans will appreciate seeing the finest performer in the world, in and amongst them, the finest fans in the world."

Michael Jackson Brother Jermaine To Write 'Faithful' Autobiography

Book will lift lid on brothers' relationship...



Michael Jackson's brother Jermaine is set to release an autobiography, it's been announced.

The book, entitled You are Not Alone: Michael: Through a Brother's Eye, will give a candid account of Jermaine's relationship with his late brother.
Publisher Touchstone said it would be "faithful and loving portrait", but one with "no subject off limits."
The book is due to be released later this year, reports the Associated Press, although an official arrival date has not been confirmed.
Sisters Janet and La Toya are also expected to release books this year. Michael Jackson died in June 2009.

Three songs recorded in the 1980s have been unearthed.

Three 1983 collaboration songs by Michael Jackson and Queen's Freddie Mercury are set to be released for the first time.

One of the songs was a demo for the Jackson and Mick Jagger collaboration 'State Of Shock', reports 411 Mania. That song was released in 1984.

The two other tracks are called 'Victory' and 'There Must Be More To Life Than This'.

A release plan for the songs has not been revealed yet, but Queen’s Roger Taylor has confirmed that they will see the light of day.

"We are now working on some never before released songs that Freddie made with Michael in the early-'80s," he said. "I'm not allowed to say too much about it, but they sound incredible."

'State Of Shock' and 'Victory' were set to come out in 2002 but the release was pulled.

A week before jury selection begins in the manslaughter trial of Michael Jackson's doctor, the late singer's father renewed calls for an investigation into his son's death.

Joe Jackson, in Madrid to promote a worldwide tour of the hit Spanish musical Forever King of Pop, said he believes Dr Conrad Murray was acting on behalf of other people involved in Jackson's career and said his son had warned his family he would be killed over the publishing rights to hit songs such as Thriller and Billie Jean.

"I want to get the other people that's involved, not just Dr Murray. That's why I'm trying to get a federal investigation, so they can grab them all," he said.

He characterised Murray as "just the fall guy," in an interview with Reuters, but declined to say who else he thought might be to blame in the death of his superstar son.

"I'm not calling names, but they know who they are," said the patriarch of the family of Jackson singers who helped define the Motown sound of the late 1960s and '70s.

"Michael knew that something was going to happen to him before it happened," said Joe Jackson, who wore his customary black fedora and gold chains.

Michael Jackson, dubbed the King of Pop for his many hits, died in 2009 at age 50 in Los Angeles of a drug overdose only days before he was to begin a series of comeback concerts in London.

Murray was hired by concert promoters AEG Live to care for the singer as he rehearsed and he was giving Jackson the anaesthetic propofol to help him sleep at home.

But propofol typically is used in hospitals, not as a sleep aid. Coroners have ruled propofol was the key drug that caused Jackson's death and prosecutors have charged Murray with involuntary manslaughter for improperly administering it.

Murray has pleaded not guilty and lawyers begin jury selection next week for a trial set to begin in Los Angeles on May 9.

Earlier this week Jermaine Jackson, the brother of Michael and a member of the Jackson Five singers, reached a deal with Crown publishing to release a memoir detailing his brother's life and promising to leave "no subject off limits."

In his life, Michael Jackson had claimed his father was abusive.

On Friday, Joe Jackson declined to comment on Jermaine's book, saying he was working on his own.

He did not give details of his memoir, other than saying it would look at his "hard times" early in life, raising a family, working many jobs and moulding his sons into the pop stars they eventually became.

Jermaine Jackson's book, titled You Are Not Alone: Through a Brother's Eyes, is set for release later this year.

Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch Under Restoration


A small update on the state of Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch has surfaced – giving hope that the entire estate isn’t just being left to rot.
According to Colony Capital’s Tom Barrack, whose firm owns part of the rights to the 2,800 acre spread, the late Jackson’s former home is being well looked after.

“Our plans have been to work to restore it to its original greatness,he told Bloomberg TV. “The place is amazing. It has not only the beautiful spirit and softness of Michael, but a legacy of a thousand years of Indian culture that had transacted upon it. We have just been restoring it, renovating it.”
Barrack added that they have no plans to commercialize the property and are simply in a holding pattern until Michael Jackson’s estate figures out what direction they would like to take the ranch in.As we reported last November, Michael’s children are in agreement that the place become ‘some kind of community park and center for animals’.
So, hang in there MJ fans. You may yet get to visit Neverland.

Michael Jackson's Ex Manager Frank Dileo Hospitalized, Fighting For His Life

Michael Jackson’s one-time manager Frank Dileo is in a Los Angeles hospital fighting for his life after having heart surgery and subsequently experiencing complications, RadarOnline.com

Sources close to the situation tell RadarOnline.com that Dileo had bypass surgery on his heart last week and then suffered from complications the next day.

RadarOnline.com has confirmed that Dileo is currently at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, but the status of his recovery is unknown.

“Frank scheduled his bypass to be at Cedars, but after suffering the heart attack, he’s taken a turn for the worse,” the source said.

“Much of his family is in town right now to be there for him. They’re worried, but of course hoping for the best.”

In August 2010, concert promoter Citadel Limited sued Dileo on accusations that the King of Pop’s manager had kept $300,000 the company paid as a fee for performances Jackson was supposed to make in Trinidad and Tobago just months after his June 2009 death.

Citadel Limited claimed Dileo personally accepted fees, which Citadel Limited paid via wire from April 2009 through June 2009.

Sadly, Michael Jackson died weeks later on June 25, 2009 in Los Angeles after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest.

The 63-year-old manager was the executive producer for Jackson’s full-length movie Moonwalker as well as eight music videos including Grammy winner Leave Me Alone. He also managed Jackson’s Bad World Tour and the Jackson family Victory Tour.

Dileo has also managed the careers of Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, Taylor Dane and Jodeci as well as worked with Prince on numerous projects.

Al Fayed, a close friend of the late performer, caused controversy after announcing he had decided to place the tribute to Jackson outside the Cottagers' stadium.
The statue was commissioned following Jackson's death in June 2009 and was due to be erected at Harrods before Al Fayed sold the Knightsbridge store.
"Why is it bizarre?," Al Fayed said after the unveiling. "Football fans love it. If some stupid fans don't understand and appreciate such a gift they can go to hell."
He added: "I don't want them to be fans. If they don't understand and don't believe in things I believe in they can go to Chelsea, they can go to anywhere else.
"People will queue to come and visit it from all over the UK and it is something that I and everybody else should be proud of."
Kit Symons played during Jackson's appearance against Wigan in 1999 and is now U18s manager at the Cottagers.
"It is great," he said. "The big thing is it is obviously something that the chairman feels very, very passionately about and he has decided to erect this statue and fair dos to him."
Speaking on the time of Jackson's visit, he added: "It was just happy times. They were great times back then.
"The chairman obviously used to bring high-profile people down to the games.
"Tony Curtis was here a few weeks after and it was just fantastic times."

Katherine's New Lawyer to Estate: Let's Be Fair

Katherine Jackson has just hired a lawyer to repair the damaged relationship with the Michael Jackson Estate ...trying to unlock some of the money the Estate is raking in and give it to MJ's mom.
Katherine hired Perry Sanders, a big time litigator who, among other things, was pivotal in securing the publishing rights for the proper owners against Master P and the No Limit Records catalog.

Sanders tells TMZ ... he wants to work with MJ Estate lawyer Howard Weitzman to see if they can reach some sort of common ground.

As TMZ first reported, the Estate is already paying Katherine $26,000 a month. In addition, the Estate has paid off the mortgage to the Jackson family home, bought her a car, hired a cook and paid for various vacations and other expenses.

Katherine and her people feel they haven't gotten enough dough, given that the Estate has made hundreds of millions of bucks since Michael's death.

For his part, Weitzman tells TMZ, "If Mr. Sanders is in fact Mrs. Jackson's new lawyer, I will be glad to talk to him."

In the meantime the estate has worked to repair major financial damage incurred by Michael Jackson during his lifetime. The "Thriller" singer died more than $400 million in debt, but in the first 17 months after his death earned more than $...310 million, court records show.
More than $9 million has been paid to and for Katherine Jackson and her son's children. Nearly $4 million of that paid off the family's longtime home in the San Fernando Valley, with portions of the rest paying for security, staff and other expenses for the family

will.i.am: 'Michael Jackson made MTV work'

will.i.am has said that he believes that Michael Jackson made networks like MTV possible.

The Black Eyed Peas frontman credited Jackson for bringing music videos to popularity with his early clips, and paving the way for music channels to be successful.

"There would be no MTV if it wasn't for Michael Jackson. If you think about it, 'Billie Jean' and 'Thriller' - all those songs - it was right around the time the video, it boomed. It was the first internet, right?" he explained to MTV News.

"The idea of a visual, coupled with audio, and it was the first time you would see your favourite artist who was played all over the radio that told you to go see the concert. So the video amplified concerts, it amplified the song on the radio, it created a business to where we were given MTV songs to play our video."

He added: "It was a great business. 'Check this out: I'm going to play the stuff you pay to make'... That is the best thing in the world."

The Black Eyed Peas previously announced that they have begun working on their next album, the follow-up to The Beginning.

will.i.am recently confessed that the group had grown tired of performing their hit song 'My Humps', as the lyrics are not representative of their best work.

Dr. Arnold Klein Pulls 180, Says Michael Jackson Did NOT Have Gay Affair With Jason Pfeiffer

Dr. Arnold Klein, Michael Jackson's former dermatologist and close friend, has now changed his story about MJ's alleged relationship with Jason Pfeiffer.

Pfeiffer, Klein's one-time office manager, claimed last year that he had a sexual relationship with Michael Jackson, an assertion that Klein corroborated.

Klein said that Jason Pfeiffer was the only man Michael was ever intimate with, and that Jason was "the love of [MJ's] life." Now? He says otherwise.

On his Facebook page, Klein (above, left) says that "Allegations about ... Jason being Michael Jackson's lover are ridiculous. That story was made up ... "

It did seem a little far-fetched at the time, although, given that Klein personally backed Jason's story up to TMZ, it's hard to know what to believe here.

Klein also scoffs at allegations (indirectly made by Dr. Conrad Murray and others) that he contributed to MJ's death, saying he only tried to help him.

Jason Pfeiffer Swears: I Had an Affair With Michael Jackson!

Jason Pfeiffer, the former office manager for Michael Jackson's friend Dr. Arnie Klein, is standing by his story that he had a gay affair with the singer.

Pfeiffer says Klein is trying to sabotage his credibility because Klein is afraid Jason will incriminate him during the upcomng Dr. Conrad Murray trial.

Jason tells TMZ he's been honest all along about having a sexual relationship with the late King of Pop and is certainly standing by his story now.

Jason Pfeiffer insists, "The story is true. We had a relationship with sexual aspects (вероятно сексуалния аспект е бил 'любовен' поглед или признанието на Майкъл 'I love you more'. But Klein changed his story Friday, writing on Facebook that reports of "Jason being [Michael's] lover are ridiculous. That story was made up ... "

Why pull the 180 now?

Jason claims Klein has a secret agenda to publicly discredit him, in case Jason's possible testimony could paint Klein in an unflattering light.

Pfeiffer adds that the doctor's reversal is even more surprising as Klein "was the one that pushed for me to release the story in the first place."
